Leading online ecommerce web site has an open position for a Vice President of Online Marketing to partner with the CMO to oversee all aspect of online marketing strategy and initiatives in order to optimize online growth and distribution.

The VP Online Marketing will be responsible for positioning the company as a market leader in online advertising, providing strategy and direction for all paid and organic search initiatives on behalf of an extensive family of online brands.

Additionally, this position will:

  • A big-picture, strategic outlook with a grasp of the tactical issues.
  • Serve as a thought leader across the entire enterprise on behalf of organic-search efforts.
  • Develop, optimize, and track search-friendly site content and pages for use across all company web sites; develop actionable management reporting and statistics on behalf of all paid and organic search activities.
  • Monitor industry (Google, MSN, Yahoo, etc) and competitor search development efforts and trends in order to position the company as the leading organic-search expert in the online space. Develop strategic management relationships with all major online distribution channels.
  • Oversee all advertising sales efforts.
  • The ideal candidate will have prior experience marketing consumer goods and/or services through online search vehicles.
  • Deep expertise in designing, building, and merchandising online products and services, gained in a business-to-consumer merchandising environment. Experience in building and launching online products or services.
  • Brings recent and relevant experience in the online search marketing space through a marketing leadership role in a recognized online company.
  • Brings a wide range of marketing experiences; on-line and traditional media, online user interface design, online merchandising, online partnerships, and CRM.
  • Has demonstrated strong strategic ability as evidenced by outstanding market and financial performance in a customer-focused business that is regarded for its superior products/services and the freshness and innovation of its marketing.
  • Exceptional management skills in developing and executing sophisticated marketing strategies, tactics, plans and programs.
  • Savvy marketer and business manager with a record of quantifiable achievements, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to use good judgment and work effectively inter-departmentally, thrive in a multi-task position within a fast paced environment. A can-do professional approach to business and a willingness to be held accountable for results.
  • Highly resourceful; not dependent on large corporate staffs and resources.
  • An undergraduate degree is required and an MBA degree is preferred.
