The Opportunity:
Our Client is a leading digital and direct marketing agency that provides marketing services and strategies to drive customer acquisition, cross-sell, loyalty, affinity and care operations across digital and traditional media for world-leading brands.
The Sr. Vice President, Marketing manages several overall Client relationships, or several lanes within one larger Client relationship through the ability to understand Client marketing and business objectives and develop high-level strategic plans. They will monitor the company's efforts to ensure adherence to strategic plans and objectives and manages resource allocation profitably. They will also be sure that deliverables meet strategic requirements of the Client, add value to the client, and meet Company quality standards.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following responsibilities:
Program Development and Execution
- Leads and manages multiple client relationships, serving as the primary and high level contact to articulate the Company view on strategy and business philosophies
- Sells in new project ideas to client that aligns with their business, customer and brand goals
- Proactively solicits feedback from the client on team and relationship with The Company
- Supports new business initiatives within own client and other potential clients
- Facilitates and owns all legal contracts for client
- Owns and communicates to the extended internal team, the overall client vision and the vision for all marketing programs for client's business
- Owns financials for the client - steering forecasts, budgets, and investments - resolving any issues with the client, senior leadership or finance when necessary
- Oversees all deliverables of the extended internal team to ensure client's expectations are being met - highlight issues to the client when necessary
- Aligns business appropriately with the right staff - ensures the capability mix is correct and that the marketing team is leveled appropriately to deliver high quality work on strategy, and on time
- Incorporates the Delivery Management team on projects when scale and complexity of the work requires their expertise - outlines and monitors rules of engagement for Marketing and Delivery teams
- Works with staffing to identify resources when gaps exist
- Develops relationships with the extended team that enhances the teams ability to deliver excellence
- Develops case studies on own business
- Shares knowledge with other client teams when their objects are similar
Strategy
- Understands fully the client's business including: economic levers, industry, organization, customer needs
- Develops overall strategy for client's business
- Develops and delivers strategic client presentations or recommendations or lead strategic discussions
- Ensures The Company remains on the cutting edge of marketing strategy and execution by being aware of the competition and highlighting gaps in Company competencies to Senior Leadership - work with Senior Leadership to close gaps
- Provides solutions and ideas for client's unique challenges - when necessary seeks out information from other Company teams, Senior Leadership, etc.
- Identifies key customer insights that drive behavior change - ensures marketing programs consider these insights
- Helps architect the customer experience
People Management
- Develops people within the team and across capabilities by coaching, identifying areas for growth, celebrating successes, managing promotion process, keeping an open dialogue with team, identifying training opportunities
- Directs Managers or ADs on the team by providing guidance, establishing goals and providing an appropriate level of feedback on a regular basis
- Establishes and grows relationships across capabilities
Qualifications (must have deep agency background):
- 15 years of agency (digital and direct marketing) and senior level leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience leading clients in their integrated marketing efforts
- Agency experience and vertical market experience in Technology, Finance and/or Retail
- Strong communication, presentation and leadership skills
- Solid analytic and strategic abilities
- Proven people and client management skills
- Bachelors degree required, advanced degree preferred
