The Opportunity:

We have an opening for a talented business development executive to lead efforts in recruiting retailers to participate in sponsored rewards programs. Our client is a leader in the business of developing and managing rewards programs for leading financial institutions that combine retailer funded rewards, editorial content and experiential benefits designed to drive card usage and customer loyalty

Job Description:

  • Initiate contact with retailers in all categories to present programs and build interest.
  • Present data analysis to each retailer, and their competitors/category
  • Develop business cases and interpret data/recommendations via database marketing strategies for each retailer based on their personal data analysis.
  • Develop presentations to build a sales story (Powerpoint/PDF)
  • Work with the management of bank clients to develop customized promotional/merchandising plans for each retailer.
  • On-going, detail-oriented relationship management with new and existing retailers.
  • Manage a team of salespeople and relationship managers.
Experience:
  • 5+ years experience in sales/business development in marketing services, loyalty marketing, and/or customer acquisition, ideally to retail chains
  • PC proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power Point
  • Strong understanding of direct/database marketing
  • Consultative business development skills with a proven track record of solving problems
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze marketing problems and provide/discuss solutions to those problems
  • Ability to utilize spreadsheets/financial models to demonstrate incremental revenue to potential retail partners from participation in these programs
  • Existing relationships with marketing executives in retail organizations is a major plus
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
