SUMMARY
Responsible for the overall relationship, media planning, development, media buying and analysis/optimization of Tier 1 Strategic Publishers. Also responsible for acquiring new Tier 1 publishers (promotional sites, email marketing providers and targeted high traffic websites. Media buys include all online marketing channels including display advertising, email marketing and registration paths/promotional sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Cultivates our existing publisher relationships.
- Develops new tier 1 publisher relationships.
- Purchases (and on-going optimization) of media buys among our strategic/Tier 1 publisher accounts.
- Utilizes all pricing structures to purchase media (CPM, CPA, CPC).
- Continuously analyze the results of those media buys to optimize existing campaigns to maximize profitability.
- Provides budget and spend summaries.
- Other duties that are within education and experience or the incumbent may be assigned for the betterment of the company.
- Responsible for proposal development and execution of email, co-registration, and affiliate media buying with current and prospective clients
- Work with Advertisers on building email, lead generation, and affiliate program objectives - measure results and optimize
- Devise and implement incentive/loyalty programs to enhance relationships with key Publishers
- Post-campaign analysis
- Participate in development of the product offerings within the Agency Services group
- Responsible for creating/developing new vendor relationships
- Provide market research and monitor competitive activity
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Extensive knowledge of media buying across one or more online marketing channel including display advertising, email marketing and registration paths/promotional sites.
- Experience with 3rd party tracking and ad serving systems (i.e. DART, Atlas) as well as media planning research tools (i.e. AdRelevance, comScore).
- Experience with CPM, CPA and CPC.
- Experience media buying in one of the online marketing channels - preferably display advertising - as well as an understanding of affiliate marketing.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Understanding of ROI focused campaigns.
- Savvy negotiator, with solid track record.
- Experience resolving/ troubleshooting campaign discrepancies and optimizing media buys.
- Established publisher contacts.
- Knowledge of the business models and pricing structures of ad networks and top tier sites.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Relevant BS or BA degree from four-year college or university; and minimum 5+ years experience in a Senior Media Planner or Media Director role.
