The Opportunity:
We have an opening for an Online Media Buyer at a leading Direct Marketing company. As a leader in the convergence of online and offline Direct Marketing, our clients goal is to aid their clients in acquiring customers and to help their partners expand their current customers.
Job Description:
The Online Media Buyer will be responsible for overseeing the reporting and buying aspects of the online media campaigns. The Online Media Buyer will be responsible for providing timely updates and recommendations based on client involvement, results and research. Additionally, they will be responsible for acquiring and maintaining partner relationships in order to provide the best media buys to our clients. The ideal client will demonstrate the following responsibilities:
Media Relationship Leadership
- Develop targeted relationships with leading publisher and advertising networks.
- Aggressively and effectively negotiate with the media publishers
- Maintain/develop relationships with media community
- Understand and adopt new techniques and technologies that are relevant for clients online media strategies
Media Planning/Buying Leadership
- Assist in the development of media plans by providing research and development in creative, brief and media input documents used to identify target audience and ideal media outlets
- Responsible for recommending, negotiating, and scheduling the media placements and creative elements appropriate to the client's budget and objectives
Analytic Leadership
- Develop system for new and existing accounts by utilizing in house media planning and buying software
- Continuously analyze the results of the online media campaigns in order to optimize maximum profitability
- Provide continuous input on results, findings and media opportunities in order to optimize the online media campaigns to their fullest potential
- Provide budget and spend summaries
- Resolve billing discrepancies
Team Leadership
- Work directly with the Director, Online Media to maintain and improve efficiencies within the online media division
- Work closely with the Online Traffic Coordinator in order to ensure the proper trafficking
- Supports other team members and promotes a positive working environment with all associates across all divisions of the company.
Experience:
Undergraduate Degree
2-5 years experience online media buying and some planning
Experience with CPM, CPA and CPC
Strong negotiation skills
Established publisher contacts
Ability to manage within strict budgets and sales goals
Familiarity with tools such as MediaPlex, Atlas, DFA, Media Visor, @Plan, AdRelevance and SRDS
