The Position
This position is responsible for maintaining and evolving an integrated database marketing system for the US Intermediary Investor Business. This person plays a critical business role as the owner of all marketing data. On a systems level the person ensures that data from direct marketing, the web, sales, call center, online advertising, literature fulfillment and customer surveys are fully aggregated to support outbound marketing efforts and analytical projects designed to gain insights into customer behavior. This individual is expected to initiate and manage a process for analysis of marketing data which will drive insights into marketing programs.
The position requires interface with senior marketing and sales staff - understanding business requirements and developing data strategies to support them. This person is also accountable for managing agency and other partner relationships to ensure data integrity and continuously evolving business requirements. Mission critical for this position: extremely high level of accountability for maintaining compliance obligations in terms of privacy policies as well as NASD regulations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the database, identifying opportunities to improve marketing systems and data management
- Oversee segmentation strategy within the database to deliver an optimal customer experience across all sales and marketing channels (improve customer selection and criteria base)
- Create a database marketing philosophy with emphasis on analysis, testing and database
- Develop a rigorous process for monitoring and learning from the results of direct marketing campaigns
- Promote testing strategies within the direct marketing team
- Oversee the reliability and efficiency of all database feeds and support new database integrations
- Manage the lead passing process between marketing and sales, with a strong emphasis on analyzing the quantity and quality of leads
- Pursue ways to improve overall data quality and efficiency
- Supervise a third party database agency that is responsible for database maintenance, development, hosting and campaign selections
- Manage a staff of 2 whose responsibilities include campaign management, data integrity, project management and database development
Skills
- Extensive experience in managing and leveraging marketing databases (defining business requirements, managing data flows and application of analysis tools in conjunction with third party providers)
- Ability to develop measurement strategies, reporting, and segmentation which will derive both efficiencies and insight for the business. Familiarity with building models is helpful.
- Skilled in direct marketing campaign development, testing and measurement
- Adept at analyzing data and communicating results to the business (must be comfortable querying data and developing presentations)
- Capable of managing a large number of concurrent, high priority projects across multiple agencies
- Management experience (internal staff and external agency)
- Excellent resource management skills (internal and external). Need to manage a variety of resources for optimal performance of numerous initiatives.
- Strong background in customer relationship management from both a database and marketing perspective. B-to-B experience preferred but not required.
- Aptitude for the ETF business and an ability to apply that knowledge to database, web and direct marketing projects
- Financial services experience preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree required.
