The Opportunity:
We have an opening for an Online Media Director at a leading Direct Marketing company. As a leader in the convergence of online and offline Direct Marketing, our clients goal is to aid their clients in acquiring customers and to help their partners expand their businesses.
Job Description:
The Online Media Director will be responsible for the internal management, leadership and evolution of the online media planning, buying and strategy. The Director will manage relationships with leading online advertising networks. They will also build new relationships with additional networks and major online publishers. The Director will lead the building of a highly-qualified and effective online media team to achieve these goals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following responsibilities:
Client/Media Leadership
- Establish strong relationship with clients through demonstrated strategic leadership
- Participate in new client presentations as the leader in the online media planning, buying and strategy
- Demonstrate ability to sell agency and all its components
- Establish and maintain communications process with clients
- Develop targeted relationships with leading publisher and advertising networks
- Drive the testing, optimization, and maintenance of the advertiser and publisher relationships
- Help set negotiation strategies
Strategic/Analytic Leadership
- Set the working methodology for the group
- Develop the online media planning and buying operations
- Provide strategic online media direction to the Account Services team in order to properly manage client's online media expectations
- Oversee development strategies and implementation plans
- Maintain and develop relationships with media community in order to be a leader in the ever changing online space
- Develop data-driven approaches to online media testing, media assessment and optimization
- Continuously analyze the results of the online media campaigns in order to maximize profitability
- Understand and adopt relevant new techniques and technologies for clients online media strategies
- Develop and lead the internal development of the online media practices
Team Leadership
- Provide and/or guide strategic input for all plans internally and externally
- Supervise and review development and implementation of all plans
- Support other team members and promotes a positive working environment with all associates
- Train, motivate, develop and help to evaluate team members
Experience:
- Undergraduate Degree
- 5-7 years of solid experience in the areas of online media buying, planning and strategy.
- Experience with CPM, CPA and CPC
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team
- Knowledgeable and passionate about interactive marketing concepts, practices and programs
- Strong organization/communication skills
- Entrepreneurial outlook
- Hands on management/business approach
- Strong client service ability and comfort
- Superior negotiation skills
- Established publisher contacts.
- Familiarity with tools such as MediaPlex, Atlas, DFA, Media Visor, @Plan, AdRelevance and SRDS
