International company representing a portfolio of unique consumer product brands sold worldwide.
The Position
The Product Manager will be responsible for a leading brand for the US market, including all aspects of Product Management. This position is directly responsible for day to day product management including marketing strategies and the execution of those strategies, product packaging, pricing and long term product evolution.
Responsibilities
- Assist VP Marketing with the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities, make recommendations as necessary.
- Execution of product strategies with development, refinement and implementation
- Manage the merchandizing of the brand and develop new merchandizing options when needed according to opportunities across all channels.
- Provide marketing plans for opportunities that could include new POS ideas, end cap programs, power panels, etc. Some items might be customer specific.
- Work with appointed agencies and vendors to create marketing support materials as directed, including flyers, leaflets, POS, displays, advertising, coupons and premiums. Maintain and forecast inventory of all marketing collateral.
- Work with trade marketing on unique quarterly trade and consumer promotions
- Packaging and supply chain coordination (i.e. Inner Pack and Master Carton, Weights & Measures), POG's for key accounts, etc.
- Assist the Director of Social Media with social networking to include but not limited to monitoring blogs, social network content, web-site content, contests, etc. Also assist Social Media director and Resident Artist with the production of videos specific and relevant to your brand responsibilities.
- Must develop a strong understanding of the products and how they are used as well as marketing the uses to a diverse consumer market.
- Develop, maintain and update on a regular basis a database on competitor activity including product, pricing, promotions and discount structures and product analysis when requested.
- Oversee logistics and coordination of all special projects including, direct mail campaigns, tradeshows, contests, rebate/coupon programs, promotions and market research.
- Participate in customer contact related to customer meetings, consumer sampling, information requests and technical questions.
- Develop a working knowledge of all products across all brands.
- Work within established budgets for own brand responsibilities.
Skills and Experience
- Experience as a marketing professional/marketing manager, preferable with CPG.
- Marketing, sales and or international experience
- Strong analytical abilities, SKU management
- Understand and embrace importance of communication and its role relative to the consumer
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task and work on team projects alongside personal responsibilities.
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
