Nights, weekends and holidays we are ready to dispatch a local, licensed and insured contractor to make critical repairs to their client's plumbing, electrical, and heating and cooling systems. They save their customers from the hassle of finding a contractor, and they protect their customers from high costs - that's because all covered repairs are completed at no charge up to an annual benefit, with no out-of-pocket expenses, no deductible, no service, trip or permit fees, and no paperwork to fill out.

Our client has been providing home emergency repair plans in the US since 2003. They have operations in the US, IK, France, Spain and Belgium. In the US alone, they are servicing over 1.1 million contracts, partnering with 15 utility companies and offering plans directly to consumers across 36 states. All together, their collective companies have more than 17 years of experience in providing high-quality home emergency repair plans and manage over 10 million home emergency repair plans for more than 140 companies, including over 40 major utility providers worldwide.

The Position:

The Sr. Manager/Director will be responsible for developing a product roadmap for the company that ensures development and testing of high quality, high value products/services that can be successfully marketed to consumers through traditional direct response marketing channels. This role will also be responsible for leading the development of strategies to migrate customer service and sales onto the web.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the implementation of a Product Management team within the company.
  • Manage the existing stable of products and lead the ongoing development of enhancements to support increased value to customers.
  • Gather and analyze feedback from sales, marketing, operations and partners/prospects to set the strategic vision for existing products and development of new products.
  • Manage the execution of consumer research to further support rationale for product development and positioning within the marketplace.
  • Direct our internal process to define the product strategy, roadmap and priorities.
  • Research, develop & implement a best processes strategy for new product development, launch and analysis.
  • Develop requirements documents and use cases for new product features.
  • Monitor the status of development projects supporting new features
  • Become an expert on other products in the marketplace
  • Product life cycle & profitability management.
  • Provide guidance and direction to product managers on developing new products and managing the lifecycle of existing products
  • Build a team to support rapid growth expectations.
  • Develop & implement strategy to drive product and customer service onto the web.
  • Work closely with retention & customer communication teams to ensure accuracy of content.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Solid knowledge of the utilities marketplace a plus.
  • Experience with direct marketing of insurance/warranty and/or protection oriented products and services.
  • Proven track record of new product development, implementation & management.
  • Bachelor's degree required (MBA or other Masters preferred) and 7-10 years experience of product development/management experience
  • "Roll-up-your-sleeves" entrepreneurial spirit, start-up attitude
  • Natural ability to relate to customers and prospects
  • Ability to work with different people across a team effectively
