The Position

This position will report into the Director of Marketing and be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans for partnership programs, primarily web-based business solutions programs for accounting professionals and their clients. The ideal candidate is a savvy, creative professional with at least 1-3 years of direct experience handling lead generation and interactive marketing in a BtoB environment and who takes pride in being a proactive, ambitious, self-directed individual. In this role, the right candidate will be responsible for achieving aggressive marketing and sales objectives, assisting in strategy and developing strong ongoing relationships with partners.

This individual will support the business unit by meeting established annual revenue objectives for each product line by supporting marketing activities that include email, web site, search engines and social media, direct sales activities, tradeshows, event presentation coordination and more. This position will work closely with all program partners to establish and maintain strong relationships; attend regular status meetings and cross-organizational planning activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demand/Lead Generation: develop strong outreach to prospects to generate qualified leads for business solutions programs; work closely with sales team to develop qualified leads for webinars and whitepapers; work collaboratively to increase conversions; develop collateral for field sales team. Represent the company at national tradeshows to generate leads and network with program and channel partners.

  • Product Marketing: assist with the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans for each program that includes direct mail, email, web site, search engines and social media, sales efforts and supporting collateral, tradeshows and more; manage on-going competitive landscape, marketing and product analysis, and proactively recommend appropriate adjustments to plans.

  • Product Management: communicate program positioning and overall company story regarding product and program successes; effectively articulate the solution in terms of ROI to the customer; work with cross-functional and cross-organizational teams on a regular basis on product strategy, incorporating customer feedback into enhancement pipeline, etc. Work with team in updating web site and/or collateral materials as new product features or enhancements are launched.

  • Online Focus: work with online production team to create and maintain compelling web pages for each program, including case studies, product demos, and online enrollment capabilities; creatively expand web site presence to better support lead generation for programs on an ongoing basis; work on search engine marketing and social networking media initiatives.

  • Test New Media: research and initiate valuable advertising opportunities to reach targeted prospects; network with professional trade media vehicles to facilitate program coverage and create opportunities for joint webinars, special supplements; test, track, and evaluate results of all marketing initiatives to ensure proper use of budgeted resources and continuous improvement.

  • Strong Relationship Skills: demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to initiate and maintain executive-level interaction with all program partners; establish and maintain strong relationships, leading regular status meetings and cross-organizational planning activities; launch and coordinate all marketing efforts with appropriate service providers – internal and external creative agencies, in-house online production team and others.

  • Budgeting: manage and track marketing expenses for each partner program to ensure that we stay within budget.

  • Event Coordination and Presentation Management: develop a streamlined workflow to manage the deadlines, speaker information and presentations needed for the many speaking engagements

Knowledge/Skills and Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business-related discipline; MBA a plus
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in online and offline direct marketing, customer acquisition and retention in a business-to-business environment
  • Direct experience handling lead generation and interactive marketing for an established BtoB cloud-based (SAAS) company will be viewed favorably
  • Ability to analyze markets and customer needs and develop marketing plans and product recommendations based on these needs
  • Proficient understanding of web site functionality and email marketing best practices
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and capable of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, organizational, and written communication skills
  • Must be a self-motivated and results-oriented person, able to lead projects and interact with multiple departments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications - MS Word, Excel – strong PowerPoint
  • Superior project management skills, managing multiple projects simultaneously and providing clear communication of timelines and expectations to team members
  • Experience leveraging Salesforce.com database as a marketing/sales vehicle a plus
  • Proven experience and success with SEM, SEO and leveraging Social Media for lead generation
