The Position
The Director of Sales will be experienced in consultative sales to develop new business, manage current member accounts and enhance member participation in products, services and association sponsored events, marketing and advertising programs.
Responsibilities
The Director of Sales will contribute to developing and implementing sales strategies and
provide leadership direction to lead sales efforts. The Director of Sales will supervise 2 sales managers.
Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have an undergrad degree and 8-10 years of measurable success in sales
preferably on a national scale. Transferable industries might include membership-driven sales, event or conference sales, media advertising, or other services. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint, and experience with contact management programs are expected.

- Develop new sales opportunities to further build association revenues among members, non-members and outside services or vendors.
- Deliver sales against objectives; participate in the establishment of sales goals.
- Manage individual sales goals through consultative sales approach.
- Create sales reports; monitor territory performance; provide monthly follow-up reports as needed.
- Act as spokesperson for our the organization evangelizing the value proposition of membership
- Manage relationships with current and potential customers to promote advertising sales opportunities.
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility, ethics and compliance
- Manage sales database for accuracy and effective follow-up.
- Prioritize and plan, multi-task, marshal resources to get things done.
- Excellent oral and written communication to convey information and ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Maintain positive client relationships; resolve customer issues with a sense of urgency and communicate proactively to understand customer business issues.
- Recommend solutions and process improvements.
- Gather research and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into user-friendly information.
- Ability to understand an industry and its relationship to the theory and practice of marketing communications.
