The Position
The Direct Marketing Campaign Director will manage end-to-end planning, creation, execution, and reporting, of traditional channel direct marketing campaigns in direct mail, print, and radio.
Responsibilities and Skills
- Plan high performance geo-targeted acquisition campaigns to reflect core brand values and optimize response among target consumer segments.
- Define and enforce brand standards and guidelines across all direct mail communications.
- Manage relationships with internal and external copy and creative resources to develop winning creative packages.
- Proactively initiate ideas for testing new campaign packages and concepts and work with internal and external resources to develop and execute.
- Manage relationships with current and new list brokers and list managers to source and negotiate profitable postal list rentals for campaigns.
- Manage data partnerships with analytic modeling and merge/purge vendors to provide high quality targeted lists for campaigns.
- Produce accurate marketing media and production budgets for each campaign based on analysis of historical performance.
- Develop accurate performance and ROI forecasts for each campaign based on historical metrics.
- Oversee analytic efforts with internal and external resources to mine and monetize our existing house file.
- Manage relationships with lettershops and print fulfillment houses to ensure timely, accurate, and cost effective production of campaigns.
- Analyze historical and current campaign results to optimize learning and ensure continuous improvement in each successive campaign.
- Develop meaningful campaign tests to ensure continuous improvement.
- Produce and distribute timely and accurate campaign reports with highlights to analyze performance by key business metrics.
- Continually work to improve campaign performance and reduce costs
- Develop integrated contact strategies across all marketing channels (online and offline) and ensure consistent messaging and timing across all channels; work with online teams to execute integrated campaigns.
- Develop budgets for print ad and radio spot campaigns in each market.
- Negotiate rates and buy media for geo-targeted print ad campaigns.
- Identify new media buying resources to continually lower media costs and raise campaign performance.
- Initiate programs to develop new creative pieces for A/B testing.
- Ensure that all creative work reflects core brand values and optimizes response among target consumer segments.
- Manage internal and external copy and creative resources to develop winning creative pieces.
- Accurately track performance of each print campaign in each market.
- Produce and distribute timely and accurate campaign reports with highlights to analyze performance by key business metrics.
Experience and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) is required plus 5+ years relevant experience in direct marketing via traditional channels.
