The Position
The Marketing Analyst will work in tandem with the VP Marketing to provide in depth database market analysis to all levels of marketing as well as coordinate with Operations Analysts and IT personnel to prioritize analyses related to marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities
Provide list management and campaign analysis for marketing campaigns
- Design tests in conjunction with marketing leads, as well as provide analysis used to plan a promotional campaign
- Create mail and telemarketing lists
- Create post-campaign response tracking and R.O.I. as well as a more detailed campaign response analysis. Use analyses to design strategies for future campaigns.
- Create analytic and tracking reports that help define marketing strategy for marketing leads
- Create customer profiles by demographic and behavioral characteristics
- Track customer behavior such as response, churn, product selection, etc.
Provide assistance to other team members as needed
- Process routine reports by extracting data from the operational databases.
- Prepare periodic reports that track key performance metrics including trend and ratio analysis.
- Perform reconciliation, monitoring, process documentation and analysis of assigned key processes and systems
- Perform root cause analysis and manage error correction projects in support of the accuracy of assigned key processes and systems
- Provide trending and analysis of performance
- Identify and escalate opportunities to improve performance in marketing
- Ensure that processes are measured and accurately reported upon
- Run queries within the SQL Server queries, Unica Affinium Campaign Management (Pluris not really the name) and OLAP using SQL Analysis Server (Cubes) and export into Microsoft Excel
- Assist with defining error correction processes
- Conducts daily evaluation and verification activities designed to improve customer satisfaction and business performance
- Uses Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools to prepare and analyze reports about customer issues and trends. Provides findings in written reports to other departments and all appropriate stakeholders
- Works closely with internal and external support teams
Experience and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (MIS, Marketing, Finance) equivalent degree or experience
- 2-5 years of related experience in database marketing or direct marketing
- Proficiency with standard business and database software (MS Office, Microsoft PowerPoint, MS Access, MS Excel, Oracle SQL), high proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint
- 1-3 years experience in utilizing tools to extract data points across systems
- 3+ years experience in report development
- Strong analytical skills analyzing financial data or marketing data
- Strong quantitative analysis capabilities
- Assist Marketing and Operations with financial campaign analysis, ROI and payback analysis.
- Ability to learn new software as it related to reporting and campaign analysis
- Team player as well as cross functionality
- Strong project management skills; ability to capture and manage action items
- Excellent time management skills; ability to manage multiple details and deadlines in a multi-tasked environment; good oral and written presentation skills
- A self-starter, highly motivated, "get-the-job-done" attitude
- A strong commitment to the Customer Experience
- Experience in cable/telephony billing highly desirable
