Our client develops and offers fun and entertaining book clubs for children and "tweens" internationally. Today more than 200,000 girls and boys are happy members of their book clubs - either in the horse book clubs, in the TL-clubs, or in the Boing football clubs. Their book clubs are currently represented in the following 9 countries: Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, USA, the Czech Republic and Hungary. Founded in 1913, Stabenfeldt still has its headquarters in Stavanger, Norway and is now owned and operated by Cydonia Development AB.
Position:
Reporting to the President, the Director of Marketing & Operations, U.S., will be the "business anchor" in this country. He/she will have oversight for all domestic activities including various vendors and governmental agencies. Will work closely with local colleagues, as well with colleagues at Headquarters in all key disciplines; information input for product development and marketing, IT and financial as well as with counterparts in Stavanger, Malmo, Munich, Prague and Budapest, as well as participate in international corporate meetings several times a year.
The general management of the U.S. operation includes primary responsibility for executing all marketing and campaign plans and budgets approved by Headquarters' management and handling all domestic business affairs for the company. He/she will monitor production, traffic, deadlines and results as well as make suggestions for adjustments and improvements on marketing issues, i.e.: credit screening, list selections, media, copy, offers, loyalty program incentives, alternative channels, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for executing all marketing campaigns and strategic direction of product ensuring maximum profitability and growth.
- Supervise editors (internal or external), on communication, tonality, content and language policy for books, members' magazine, etc.
- Oversight for all operations, production and logistics from point of U.S. entry
- Supervise payment process, optimizing billing and receivables and create bimonthly reports with U.S. Financial controller consistent with formats designed by Headquarters CFO
- Responsible for all necessary contact with/reporting to federal, state and local agencies
- Participate in professional associations to represent the company, develop new vendor relationships for continued professional development
Qualifications:
- MBA in Marketing is required.
- Must have minimum of 5 years of experience implementing a variety of direct marketing strategies (e.g., direct mail, affinity marketing, internet, and broadcast media) with continuity products.
