Our client offers a suite of services ranging from data, analytics, promotions and customer experiences offers and programs. Their full range of services enables them to deliver every aspect of building and maintaining relationship-marketing programs.

Position

The Vice President Business Development/Sales National Retailer Relationships will be tasked with driving the growth of company's business model; execute sales strategies against corporate goals and objectives, and develop and scale up new business and customer bases. Overall, the VP will be charged with directing the business development and sales effort monitoring the results, quantifying the successes and shortfalls, adjusting as needed, and contributing the baseline strategies employed and fostering the strategies to be employed. Skills in selling strategic alliances on a corporate level will be an essential part of your success. This position will be required to manage and grow a team of talented sales professionals, leading and directing them to execute successfully against Company's strategic plan.

Responsibilities

  • Structure detailed strategic plan for maintaining existing and building new business relationships at the "C" level.
  • Research and drive business expansion/collaboration opportunities for the market; develop, in conjunction with senior management, the market strategic plan.
  • Development of sales presentations and action plans for potential new clients.
  • Identify future industry trends and client contact opportunities.
  • Institute a client modeling program; cloning profitable clients.
  • Act as a strong team player in the management of business sold.
  • Enhance existing client team programs and identify new pilot program opportunities.
  • Develop strong client relationships on all levels.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of important market trends and product categories.
  • Keep up with industry dynamics.
  • Participate in key industry organizations, maintain high level of visibility.
  • Oversee development of proposals and budgets.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years managing P&L and sales executive headcount within a successful direct marketing services organization.
  • Proven track record in sales and marketing; affinity/partnership BtoB, BtoC.
  • Positive attitude toward producing results.
  • Strong understanding of retailers in all sectors.
  • 8-10 years of successful sales experience from within the direct marketing/adverting marketing industry.
  • Ability to provide an integrated solution to prospects and customers. Must be able to stage a consultative selling process that overcomes objections and indifferences and connects need with Company.
  • Demonstrated measurable revenue generation at large professional services firm.
  • Impeccable oral and verbal communications and presentation skills.
  • Leverage knowledge of direct marketing best practices to ensure that sales executives are focused and achieve their stated goals.
  • Experience in defining industry sector trends.
  • Participation and management of client teams responsible for key account management.
  • Experience in the continuity or membership services area.
  • Undergrad degree preferred; advanced degree viewed very favorably.
