The Position

Currently the company is in search of an individual for the position of Risk and Recovery Manager. This primary responsibility of this position will be managing internal and external credit & collections routines to maximize collection efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize available MIS and production systems to identify trends and patterns in our customers' credit behavior; Establish reporting and highlight key trends to aid in decision-making
  • Develop a multi-channel approach to collections (mail, phone, web) in order to minimize bad debts
  • Determine, test and implement optimal credit limits and policies in order to maximize revenues
  • Work closely with marketing teams to identify a balanced risk management approach
  • Oversee, manage, evaluate and recommend improvements to all credit related correspondence with our customer base
  • Oversee and interact with credit and reporting agencies
  • Review current procedures, both internally and with these vendors, to identify ways of automating and streamlining processes
  • Represent company at Direct Marketing Credit Association Meetings and implement industry best practices
  • Bring industry/external benchmarks to internal recovery processes to ensure continuous improvements
  • Maintain close contact with Risk and Recovery Manager in Europe in order to share/implement best practices
  • Identify opportunities for risk management models

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; continuity background preferred
  • 5+ years of risk management analytical credit experience
  • Strong mathematical skills and background, including fluency in basic statistical concepts and risk measurement methodologies
  • Knowledge of direct response marketing
  • Analytical mindset is key to success in this position
  • Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills, with a highly developed customer service orientation and ability to work effectively with all levels of internal staff and external contacts
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter, who can set priorities, take initiative and work both independently and proactively in a dynamic team environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Word required
