The Position

The healthcare division within the company which, specializes in market research on behalf of the medical device and diagnostics industries, is seeking an Assistant Vice President for their Chicago, IL or Princeton, NJ offices. As a technical expert, this person will manage a team of researchers and provide expertise and guidance regarding all phases of healthcare market research studies for assigned clients by either performing or supervising all activities required for successful studies.

Responsibilities

Set direction and oversee all phases of qualitative and quantitative project management including, but not limited to: proposal writing, questionnaire design and implementation, sample selection, fieldwork moderation or monitoring data collection, analysis, report writing, and participation in client presentations.

  • Ensure that all project activities are done accurately, efficiently, within budget, and in a timely manner
  • Maintain a hands-on approach to market research studies including involvement in all aspects of project management, when required
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external clients
  • Ensure that the needs of the client are addressed
  • Direct supervision of 2-4 team members, as well as supervision to other staff to ensure the accurate and timely execution of research projects.
  • Manage all activities of assigned staff including, work assignments, training and development and performance review
  • Generate, review and edit reports and deliver presentations which address client issues
  • Effectively manage multiple projects on tight deadlines
  • Stay current on trends and development in the area of market research and medical devices

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7-8 years of direct experience in healthcare market research, with a Bachelor's degree or above
  • Supplier side experience and knowledge of medical device industry is a plus
  • Complete understanding of the organization's philosophy and objectives as they relate to performing market research projects
  • Working knowledge of research processes and analyses and the ability to run projects
  • Experience conducting global market research projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external clients
  • Qualitative experience in moderating in-person individual and focus group interviews with medical professionals
  • Ability to supervise and advise junior level staff and proven leadership ability in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and project management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software systems
