Our client provides digital marketing technology and services to the world's top marketers, publishers and agencies. Interactive services include: ad serving, rich media, video, search and affiliate marketing.

The Position

The Product Director of Publisher Products will take ownership of one of the company's industry-leading publisher technology products and the ensuing responsibilities such as: handling the business, strategy and roadmap, assemblage and motivation of a cross-functional team, and commercialization new releases of the product in the market. This is a multi-million dollar business with a high-visibility position that involves interaction with major customers and prospects in North America, Europe and Asia, and collaboration with all units within the company.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Product Director will be to develop, evangelize, and drive the product's strategic plan globally and assume full ownership of performance related to product P&L.

  • Lead and manage product management staff responsible for executing the product development lifecycle, including roadmap planning, engineering prioritization, market and competitive analysis, product positioning, and product launches.
  • Direct both business and technical requirements gathering activities through on-going interaction with clients and prospects, client advisory board meetings, user groups, and market research.
  • Commercialize new product releases and product integrations globally, including pricing strategy, marketing, and sales training.
  • Influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategic and tactical initiatives, including supporting the sales effort and partnering with the services organization.
  • Develop strong relationships and partnerships with major strategic accounts. Establish and supervise the strategic direction of the product, including the strategic planning process and the annual pricing review.
  • Act as the key spokesperson for the product to customers, the press, and industry groups on a regular basis to promote product awareness.

Skills and Required Experience

  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in the technology field, including roles with direct client interaction. A prior position in the product management field preferred.
  • Proven ability to begin and finish major cross-functional projects independently with minimal supervision. Top-notch follow-through skills.
  • Written and verbal communications at the highest level; ability to represent the company at industry events.
  • Strong working knowledge of Internet technology and software development. Technical background and competency is preferred.
  • Prior experience in the online media industry.
  • Proven ability to manage a team, work cross-functionally, and motivate an extended team.
  • Ability to learn complex technical and business concepts quickly.
  • Business or technology degree preferred. MBA a plus.
  • Some travel required.
