Our client develops and manages successful rewards programs for leading financial institutions that provide up to 20% cash back and other rewards to consumers when they use an enrolled credit or debit card at leading national, local and online retailers. They provide their financial institution clients and retail partners with a turnkey solution, including creative execution, editorial development, ongoing retailer recruitment, information technology, database management and analytics, as well as customer service.
Position
Currently, the client is seeking a talented individual with proven leadership skills for the position of Senior Vice President of Client Services. The SVP will be primarily responsible for managing programs designed to provide rewards to bank customers when they use a bank's credit and/ or debit cards at participating retailers..
Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with financial institution clients, primarily consisting of national and regional banks that issue credit and debit cards, in the development/implementation of our client's merchant-funded rewards programs
- Oversee a team responsible for developing and implanting our client's merchant- funded rewards programs
- Understand and manipulate financial models that financial institution clients use to evaluate program success and ongoing focus on key performance metrics that drive that model
- Develop business requirements, operational process/data flows, and project plans Detailed project management of all aspects of our client's rewards programs, starting with 'onboarding' of new client programs and ending with ongoing management of programs after launch
- Supervise operational execution of multiple client programs and ensure adherence to delivery dates for tasks listed in the project plan
- Measure key performance metrics that drive program success and regulate comparison with goals set with each client against those metrics
- Coordinate relationships at multiple levels within the client organization
- Lead internal meetings on both program strategy and tactical execution, with multiple stakeholders across our client, including retailer recruitment/management, consumer marketing/editorial, IT, product development, finance/accounting, and business development of financial institutions
- Lead client-facing meetings on both program strategy and tactical execution, including making strategic recommendations on program design and ongoing refinements, and updating clients on tactical execution, progress on retailer recruitment, etc.
- Manipulate and present analyses that demonstrate results of various marketing initiatives, and make recommendations of new marketing initiatives based on those results
- Work closely with the merchant, consumer marketing and IT teams of our client to develop/execute ongoing promotions on behalf of national, local/regional and online retailers, and consumer marketing deployments designed to drive end user engagement
- Develop and propose new ideas to continually improve client rewards programs and ensure that our client's executions remain highly differentiated and 'best in class'
- Lead our client's efforts to develop/launch rewards programs for other products across the financial institution client, outside of credit/debit cards
Qualifications
- Advanced degree is preferred
- 10+ years of experience in account management roles working with financial institutions
- Proven management/ leadership skills
- Demonstrated success managing client service teams
- Understanding of the holistic business needs of banks
- Understanding of financial models used to evaluate the success of rewards programs
- Ability to make strategic recommendations on program design and ongoing refinements to ensure each program remains differentiated and meets each client's needs
- Hands on, strong team player, and fully accountable for delivering agreed-upon performance metrics
