Our client develops and manages successful rewards programs for leading financial institutions that provide up to 20% cash back and other rewards to consumers when they use an enrolled credit or debit card at leading national, local and online retailers. They provide their financial institution clients and retail partners with a turnkey solution, including creative execution, editorial development, ongoing retailer recruitment, information technology, database management and analytics, as well as customer service.

Position

Currently, the client is seeking a talented individual with proven leadership skills for the position Executive Vice President of Partner Development. The EVP will be primarily responsible for managing retailer sales and building trusting and valuable relationships with retailers and internal team members at the company. An individual in this position should possess a demonstrated ability to manage a team that will be responsible: for recruiting top-tier national retail chains into rewards programs, managing relationships with those retailers once they've come on board, recruiting & managing local mom-and-pop retailers, and recruiting & managing hundreds of online retailers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex, consultative sales to large, national retailers that involve multiple decision-makers - both personally and via a team of internal salespeople, with a significant amount of 'getting in the trenches' expected.
  • Demonstrate to prospective and existing retailers how the company's programs can address their holistic marketing needs - including development/implementation of customer 'experiences' that align with different lifestyle segments - directly and via team of internal salespeople.
  • Manipulate and present data analysis for retail partners that leverage bank transaction data and development of ROI/business cases, using Excel) - and interpretation of data analysis/ furnishing of recommendations of both high-level marketing plans and database marketing approaches most likely to drive key performance metrics for those retail partners.
  • Develop sales presentations to build a compelling sales story for prospective and existing retail partners using PowerPoint or PDF.
  • Develop operational process and data flows to convey to retailers how the company's systems integrate with retailers' systems.
  • Work with the internal client services teams, who work with financial institution clients, to develop/implement customized promotion/merchandising plans for retailers.
  • Develop and manage sales processes & reporting systems to track national, regional and online retailers throughout their sales cycles.
  • Manage recruitment of thousands of local mom-and-pop retailers through a direct sales force and a network of independent salespeople.
  • Maintain ongoing, detail-oriented relationship management with existing retail partners

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree is preferred
  • 8+ years of experience with proven management/leadership skills, strong analytic capabilities, and demonstrated experience in consultative sales roles with senior marketing executives in large retail organizations
  • Understanding of retailers' holistic marketing needs.
  • Experience working with database modeling
  • Ability to develop and interpret sales forecasts for retail partners, including a strong facility with Excel
  • Hands on, strong team player, and fully accountable for delivering agreed-upon performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and partnership skills
