The client is an online data service that uses anonymous cookie information to tailor specific advertising messages based on consumer online shopping habits. They offer multi-channel retailers and e-commerce companies the ability to use consumer shopping behaviors to improve the ROI of graphical advertising delivered across the internet.

Position

The Director of Account Services is ultimately responsible for the entire stability and revenue derived from the company's existing clients. Implementing new ideas, training techniques and systems to support the growth of a world-class account management team are also essential functions of this position. The ideal candidate for this position is a savvy manager with extensive knowledge of online marketing and a proven track record in driving revenue from existing client accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train and coach managers to maximize revenue potential on a book of business
  • Strategize, build and execute against large-scale business plans related to the existing book of business
  • Supervise team of 4+ account managers
  • Work with product, marketing, and sales teams to identify sales leads, targets and prospects
  • Implement policies and procedures to ensure the Account Services team is exceeding goals
  • Motivate, recognize and reward outstanding performance both on an individual, and team basis
  • Review performance of account management representatives and suggest needed improvements and corrective actions
  • Build and maintain a work environment within the team characterized by high expectations and aggressive sales goals while, fostering an open, accountable and teamwork environment
  • Maintain high energy level within the team through communications, contest and events to create a fun atmosphere
  • Provide regular account updates to executive management
  • Continually monitor client businesses and address any issues
  • Effectively renegotiate pricing and other business terms based on ongoing campaign results

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree & 7-10 years of progressive sales and/or client management experience
  • 2+ years of experience in organizing and overseeing managers
  • Extensive background in marketing, online media and/or ecommerce
  • Strong interactive agency, web consultancy or behavioral targeting experience a plus
  • Understanding of a wide variety of internal and client-side metrics
  • Proven ability for strategic thinking and proactive problem solving
  • Strong leadership and team building skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Positive, pro-active attitude and work style
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • May require up to 20% travel
