The Company
The client is a wholly-owned subsidiary of a major public corporation. They are one of the nation's top multi-channel marketers, with direct, retail, and publishing divisions to serve the brand and its customers.
The Position
There is currently an opening for the challenging and exciting position of Senior Vice President of Marketing within the company. This position will be responsible for the development of strategic brand direction and consistent presentation of the company's brands across all channels of distribution including, catalogue, web, magazine, book publishing and retail.
Responsibilities
The scope and complexity of this position is at a very high level. The SVP is responsible for both the creative side business and for the development of all product/marketing initiatives. The SVP of Marketing is directly responsible for the following areas as well:
- Marketing (Brand, Book Publishing, Catalogue, Web & Magazine, and Retail), Marketing Communications, Public Relations, Business Intelligence &New Business Development, and Design & Development.
- Overseeing the processes to execute the brand vision, ensuring that brand content and image creation optimizes current brand opportunities while developing new products that are consistent with the brand's wholesome values and aesthetic.
- Collaborating with the VP Design & Development on all product development including editorial product, hard goods and magazine.
- Creating financial P&L achievement for the Brand
- Becoming "keeper of the brand's relevance, aesthetic and values"
- Utilizing persuasive skills in order to drive the strategic plan and the Marketing Plan - both from a process standpoint and achieving acceptable business results.
Qualifications
- Experienced global marketing/branding executive with 15 years working in the Consumer
- Products industry to include: Customer Analytics, Strategy, Circulation, Brand Marketing,
- Advertising, Publishing and Product Development.
- Demonstrated record of superior business and personal performance in a high growth, creative organization and record of success developing high quality content, especially story integrated with product.
- Familiarity with multiple channels of distribution, with special emphasis on direct mail and branded retail.
- Senior responsibility for a premium brand where quality is an integral component of the product message. Alternatively, responsibility for premium life-style brand.
- Advertising and/or creative management experience with responsibility for major brands, particularly those marketed to children and parents.
- Significant P&L experience including identifying growth opportunities and building the business.
