The Company

The client is a premiere agency in the insert media field, offering strategic planning, creative development, partnership marketing and production services along with media buying and media representation. They provide superior creative solutions and services to top-tier companies.

The Position

The client is seeking a Print Production Director who will be responsible for managing direct mail print production, organize and lead projects such as, data, Lettershop and printing. The Production Director, in conjunction with the Senior Director, will also oversee traffic and direct report production positions.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate and award direct mail and miscellaneous programs
  • Vendor negotiations
  • Purchase order creation and billing reconciliation
  • Agency and client communication
  • Management of programs from conception to completion including: template creation, art file release, proofing, printing, data processing, imaging and Lettershop
  • Press checks and vendor site inspections
  • Organize press check schedules within the department
  • Work with accounting to produce monthly billing for all jobs and manage vendor turn around for providing invoices
  • Monitor vendor payment with accounting
  • Maintain master schedule of all production projects in the department
  • Coordinate regular meetings between production, management and account teams
  • Provide daily status reports to senior director on all projects

Requirements of the Position

  • BS degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong knowledge of creative processes
  • 4+ years experience as a production manager purchasing high volume direct mail
  • Lettershop, DP and postal experience
  • Demonstrated competency in MS Office products
  • Knowledge of Quark and In-design
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Client service orientation
  • Ability to manage time appropriately and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to operate in a fast-pace environment
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
