The Position
The Director of Account Management is responsible for delivering strategic, day-to-day management of database marketing client engagements and must be able to develop strong client relationships. The individual in this position works to understand the client's business needs and collaborates with the account team to ensure the development and implementation of analytical and technical solutions to enable those strategies.
Responsibilities
- Provide account leadership including coordination of internal analytical, strategy and technical resources to deliver on client's needs and expectations.
- Deliver against a set scope of work that includes strategic development, results reporting, creative development and database management.
- Manage and expand client relationships – continual needs assessment – relationship plan
- Ensure client satisfaction and execute client reference-ability process
- Find and close new revenue opportunities within an existing client base
- Manage contract and pricing negotiations
- Understand client business needs, participate in solution development and effectively communicate solutions
Requirements
- 8 years of experience in direct marketing, in the Database Marketing industry
- At least 3-4 years of solid work experience in marketing consulting (DbM agency, direct agency), CRM or Data service provider.
- Agency and/or vendor side experience
- Experience with execution side of direct marketing strategy, analytics and technology (database and OLAP, campaign & reporting tools)
- Measurable experience in managing and growing profitable satisfied accounts and/or relevant client side experience
- Proven account management, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Strong relationship building skills
- Strategic counselor to clients at a senior level
- BS degree; MS/Advanced degree desirable
