The Position
Currently our client is seeking a talented and experienced individual for the Manager of Analytics position which, provides direction and manages the work processes and output of a team of database marketing analysts. Another important aspect of this position is developing and communicating strategy to implement the objectives of the organization and guiding others in linking their activities to the objectives. The Manager of Analytics will be expected to evaluate client needs for quantitative analysis as well as, maintain the lead role in creating and articulating relevant solutions for clients and developing methods or processes for implementation. This position may or may not have direct reports at first, but will build a team as client needs dictate.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Leads team in addressing and analyzing direct marketing programs using the following tools and techniques:
- Predictive statistical models
- Customer profiling
- Segmentation Analysis
- Survey Design and Analysis
- Data Analysis and Mining
- Break-Even Analysis
- Determines quantitative methods for solving client issues
- Proposes quantitative solutions to clients
- Presents ideas and findings to clients
- Proactive and effective interaction with other internal groups
- Evaluates and improves internal tools and processes
Position Requirements
- Graduate degree in Statistics or related field required
- 5 or more years experience in quantitative arena, preferably in database marketing, including at least 1 supervisory in the direct marketing area.
- Quantitative Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply statistical techniques such as linear regression, logistic regression, analysis of variance, cluster analysis, CHAID, CART, principal components, factor analysis to business problems. Ability to apply other quantitative methods such as sampling theory, probability theory and experimental design.
- Computing Skills: Strong SAS skills are required, including ability to manage data using BASE SAS and SAS MACRO and to use SAS STAT procedures. SQL is recommended. Knowledge of other statistical packages (e.g., SPSS, Stata, S-Plus, AnswerTree) and/or programming languages (e.g., C++, Visual Basic, etc.) is helpful.
