Position Description:
Presently, there is a career opportunity for a qualified individual to become the Director of Analytic Services. As the Director of Analytic Services, one would serve as a company leader in all areas of data analysis, statistical evaluation, and analytical reporting. This Director would report directly to a Senior Vice President and be well versed in all matters of data analysis and the computer tools used to conduct complex analysis projects (spreadsheets, databases, report writers, and statistics software). The Director would be capable of interpreting analytical results into program recommendations that will benefit clients and staff. Most importantly, as a company leader, the Director must be a strong trainer and have the respect of clients and his/her peers in the firm.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Become a leader within the company in the area of providing superior analytical services to all the firm's clients, including analysis of specific client programs, such as renewals, appeals, sustainer programs and prospecting.
- Generate standard analytical reports, in conjunction with the Director of Information Systems to include: donor value, donor attrition, donor retention, halfway points and any other reporting as needed and providing analytical review and over-sight of reporting to client.
- Coordinate the development of analysis narrative to accompany each analytical report; assist staff in interpreting analysis and writing narrative; write narrative as necessary.
- Conduct detailed results-based analyses of client programs. Interpret the data, develop recommendations for and implement strategies designed to beat projections and meet client goals. Report on and present results in spreadsheets, written reports, graphically and using presentation software.
- Advise clients and internal staff to advise on performance trends and to recommend alternative strategies to overcome strategic and organizational challenges.
- Chair the Testing & Analytical Committee and direct the development of testing strategies for all of the firm's clients.
- Manage the MailTests database and provide support to account teams in the area of testing report development, review and conclusions.
- Develop a level of expertise in job related software programs such as spreadsheet, database management, report writers, and statistical analysis programs.
- Master advanced level direct mail and telemarketing statistics.
- Support the information systems infrastructure as needed and as directed by the Director of Information Systems. Work in coalition with the Director of Information Systems to assist in that position's statistical functions.
- Recommend systemic and procedural improvements.
- Provide support and direction as needed to the Stats Coordinator position.
- Train staff in basic and advanced statistical measurement and techniques; manage the statistics training program.
- Manage list projects as needed by the list department.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in Direct Marketing or related field.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Excellent analytical skills and computer skills, especially in spreadsheet and database programs.
- Solid oral and written communication skills; ability to explain complex analysis in clear, concise narrative and presentations to account staff and clients.
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines independently.
- Ability to follow company systems and operating procedures. (Forms, timelines, etc.)
- Excellent organization skills, attention to detail and ability to manage and prioritize short and long term goals.
- Knowledge of database design, manipulation, and reporting.
