Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right individual to obtain the position of Analytic Director. This position is primarily responsible for the development and ongoing management of the POS and Consumer data methodologies. This responsibility includes all decision-making, troubleshooting and evaluation of issues related to the various census projection systems, calibration matrices, non-POS targeting methods, POS projections and brand weighting for the product offerings.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and managing the POS and Consumer data methodologies.
  • Managing the analysis of data impact
  • Developing a recommendation for year-end restatement/data refreshments and ensuring successful implementation
  • Partnering with Research Sciences and other business units to facilitate best practices and new methodologies
  • Meeting with clients to present analytics and methodology, as well as answer questions pertaining to data and data quality
  • Working closely with Business Unit Sales and Client Service to train these departments on methodologies and provide technical support with clients
  • Playing a leadership role in corporate initiatives, Business Unit meetings, and other company/departmental events, including recruiting, supervising, training, motivating, and managing appropriate personnel in the group
  • Communicating product initiatives to the Business Unit, including newsletters, presentations, working with Marketing/PR to shape the product image and positioning to the marketplace and educating sales staff
  • Managing and developing staff

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years experience with suppliers or in a market research department.
  • BA/BS or equivalent
  • Solid understanding of syndicated data, and some operational and development exposure
  • Advanced analytical thinker; one who has knowledge of statistical software packages and applications SPSS, etc.
  • Experience and understanding of client business issues and ability to develop and apply research designed to assist in effective decision-making
  • Some experience with product management in a technical arena
  • Ability to translate technical methodologies into client-friendly terms
  • Must be a detail-oriented, critical thinker with strong project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive/self-starter with excellent problem solving ability and excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to work well individual and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Strong project management skills
